Where Their Hearts Collide (Wardham, #2)

5 STARS

Got an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

First, thank you Zoe for allowing me to read and review your work. This is the second ARC I received from her and I am soooo glad I get the chance to read it in advance!

This is a really sweet and hot story of Karen and Paul. They couldn't possibly have met at the worst possible time in their lives, Karen decided to follow her dream and go back to school and Paul wants to be a better dad for his kid. But if it's meant to be, it's meant to be.

KAREN

She's the good girl of their family. Following her parents' footstep in taking care of their business and setting aside her dream job. She's funny at times and I loooved how she finally took charge of her own life and follow her dreams. Thought there's so much going n in her head, i's never too late to follow your dreams.

PAUL

Oh, Paul... I loved your take charge attitude and you've come to your senses not to let go of Karen. I love me some men in uniform. Sooo hawt!

I really enjoyed this read. It's definitely going on my read-again-list. I liked the characters' chemistry and the unexplainable attraction and their first time was definitely uber hot!

Can't wait for Evie's story!

Would you recommend this? Hells yes!

Hope Entangles

3 STARS

Received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

First, I just want to get this out of my chest "Not another cliffy! Nooooo!" There, I said it.

This picked up where it ended on the first book. Hope betrayed Jake and she's wallowing and (for me) over thinking it.

[HOPE]
She's still the funny, weird and endearing girl from the firs book. She's still rockin' the Hello Kitty stuff.

She's pining over Jake and I just wish they had more interaction than just the last scene of the book. Then she got herself into some of the weirdest situations that, for me, lacks the back up story it needs. Like [when Jake's sister and mother confronted her. I mean I didn't get why they did that? Jake is old enough and strong enough to fight his own battles. Then her mother came just for it to end by Hope walking out on them. I didn't get that. Sorry.

[JAKE]

Well I'm glad we got his POV in this book! I love dual POVs! Well, we didn't see much of him except on those rare occasions where he is "stalking" Hope which is weird but made me awww... (please don't judge me) because he cant stay away from her.

[RAPHAEL]
Then we met the new, sexy, genius neighbor!

In the beginning I'm not sure how he will play a part in Hope's life but he's arrogantly sweet, Mother Theresa-like neighbor. I liked him! I wish I have a neighbor just like him!!! He can bake! Oh good heavens! Give me some Raff!!!

The most entertaining part of this read didn't come until the last few chapters and I wish there was more of that all throughout the book. I got bored on the first 2/3 of the book. But I'm still looking forward to the last part of Hope's story!

Axel

4.5 STARS

Izzy and Axel were supposed to be together. He promised to return to her after his basic training in the Marines and Izzy promised to wait. But fate was not in their favor, throwing one loop after another.

Izzy is a sweet, caring, vulnerable woman who fell for the wrong guy (after Axel and their convoluted separation). Her abusive, sick, twisted ex-husband tried to separate her from her friends and family. She finally left their marriage six long f*cked up years.

She's strong in her own ways. She found a way to get past all of the fucked up shit she went through with the help of her best friend and a new foud friend, Greg. I liked her for that. She at least didn't give up on life (in general)

Axel is a hot alpha with a dirty, dirty mouth!

And I like him for that! He never knew what really happened with his Izzy but after twelve years, just one look at her and all his feelings for her came crashing back.

I liked their story. I loved it from beginning til the end. I haven't read a book in a long while that had me turning the pages so fast 'cause I'm so hooked with their story.

Friends Without Benefits

4 STARS

Received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Elizabeth and Nico has been frenemies since they were little. Nico made Elizabeth's life a living nightmare, pulling stunts and basically torturing her.

Up until a month before Garett died. They tried to co-exist to make their friend's last few days bearable.

Then they shared a summer they wont forget after Garett passed. A summer that marked their lives but Elizabeth left...

Fast forward to 11 years later.

Elizabeth is a very smart but sarcastic woman. She's a successful doctor in Chicago. She likes playing practical jokes and listening to boy bands (cringe and shudder!). She learned a lot of things she didn't know about Nico and their childhood relationship. Eventually she learned her priorities, to forgive and to love again.

Nico became a successful comedian in New York City. He kept his feelings for Elizabeth for 11 years but when they were kids he had really odd ways of showing it. He finally said what Elizabeth means to him and learn to show his feelings in a positive way.

The interesting part of their story didn't come until the last third of the book which kinda bummed me out. I hoped it was spread evenly throughout the book to make it more of a page turner. On the first two-thirds of it I kept on hoping that they would move o with their "issues".

Overall, I liked their crazy interactions and funny, sarcastic banters. There's a certain charm to it that I found it endearing.

Silver Fire

4.5 STARS

Received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

When Victoria emailed me if I would be interested in reviewing her book I didn't even hesitate, I said yes with a big smile on my face. I'm glad I did because she didn't disappoint!

Yes! Finally! After a few months of dry spell for some badass, alpha, swoon worthy male lead I finally read one that made me super happy.

Sophie is a very smart woman however she is closed up in her own little world. She is a scientist holed up in her lab.

Sophie got herself in a bind when her life was threatened because of her father's research, which she continued and made possible. The Zefinium bomb can wipe a town and not leave trace of radiation in its wake. Well, of course people or organizations would want their hands on it. Enter Derek.

He is bull headed and doesn't take no for an answer,

But he is patient where it counts,

A dirty, dirty mouth,

A heart that can love,

I would've given this a 5 stars, however I just can't. There are some things that isn't for me. A little of some of the things kinda reminds me of KA... Maybe it's just me. And the ending left me wanting a bit more. Maybe I'm looking for more actions scenes. But don't get me wrong, this is a really great read. I enjoyed every page! This will definitely go in my read-again list.

Great work, Victoria! Thank you for allowing me to read your work in advance.

Would you recommend this book? Definitely, 100% YES!
