Black Magic Cupcakes

I got this recipe from AllRecipes and I was amazed at how good it is. This is literally a fool proof recipe. I hope you'll give it a try.

People that I give it to always take pleasure in receiving them. It's free and it's good, who would complain? Right? :)

You can play with different kinds of frosting for this base. From top to bottom: chocolate-peanut butter frosting and  chocolate frosting.

Here's another one, cheese cream frosting with crushed caramel and mini chocolate kisses.

Last one is with coffee frosting.

Enjoy!

Wow!nies

I first tried baking back in 2009 (I cant really remember when in '09). I fell inlove with it! It's relaxing, therapeutic and I love it when my family and friends enjoy what I've made.

The very first thing that I was able to bake from scratch was brownies.

The name "Wow!nies" was coined by my nephew. He cant say brownies back then, he keeps on saying "Wow!nies". Lol.

My Wow!nies are moist on the inside and crunch on top. Just the way I like it. So here's the recipe for it.

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup All Purpose Flour
  • 1 1/4 Cup White Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/3 Cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 1/4 Cup Unsalted Butter
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 2 medium sized eggs
Procedure:

1. Preheat oven at 200 C. Line a 8 inch round tin with baking paper.

2. Sift flour, baking soda and salt.

3. Melt butter with the oil in low heat. Once butter is completely melted add the cocoa powder. Mix until blended then set aside to cool.

4. Whisk eggs and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the butter-cocoa mixture in and whisk until well blended. Then add the dry ingredients and mix.

5. Pour in the lined tin and bake for 20-25 mins or do a cake test. Insert a toothpick, if it comes out clean then you're good! But I prefer mine a bit gooey on the inside.

Optional: Put melted chocolate, nuts, marshamallows, mini white kisses or whatever you fancy.

Enjoy! :)

Sweetened With a Kiss (Self Made Men...Southern Style #1)

TWO STARS

Got an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.*

Okay. Where do I start? Maybe it's just me but it took me 5 days to finish this book. It wasn't a long book so I dont understand it. I wanted to like this book (I really do) but I cant seem to get into it!

There was more action on the last five chapters, I dont know what to make of that. But I liked how it ended since I'm such a sucker for HEA.

Here's what I thought as I read on:

1. There's too much comparison to ice or cold something.

2. There's too much i-wont-tell-you-how-i-feel-so-we-wont-get-along that lasted ten chapters. They just dont like each other so much that it felt unreal.

3. It feels like the book tarted in the middle. There sould've been atleast an introduction of some sort. Til the end of the book I dont know how old Stefan is. (or maybe I just missed it or something.)

4. Why couldnt Stefan tell Jen he loves her? And why cant Jen tell him how she felt? Was it so hard to have "The Talk"?

I was looking at the percentage so much to know if it's already ending.

Would I recommend this? Probably not. :(
