Silver Fire

4.5 STARS

Received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

When Victoria emailed me if I would be interested in reviewing her book I didn't even hesitate, I said yes with a big smile on my face. I'm glad I did because she didn't disappoint!

Yes! Finally! After a few months of dry spell for some badass, alpha, swoon worthy male lead I finally read one that made me super happy.

Sophie is a very smart woman however she is closed up in her own little world. She is a scientist holed up in her lab.

Sophie got herself in a bind when her life was threatened because of her father's research, which she continued and made possible. The Zefinium bomb can wipe a town and not leave trace of radiation in its wake. Well, of course people or organizations would want their hands on it. Enter Derek.

He is bull headed and doesn't take no for an answer,

But he is patient where it counts,

A dirty, dirty mouth,

A heart that can love,

I would've given this a 5 stars, however I just can't. There are some things that isn't for me. A little of some of the things kinda reminds me of KA... Maybe it's just me. And the ending left me wanting a bit more. Maybe I'm looking for more actions scenes. But don't get me wrong, this is a really great read. I enjoyed every page! This will definitely go in my read-again list.

Great work, Victoria! Thank you for allowing me to read your work in advance.

Would you recommend this book? Definitely, 100% YES!

Stripped

FOUR STARS

I'm so glad I picked this book! There are no regrets whatsoever.

Stripped is a story of a young woman who knows who she is and not scared to follow her dreams and eventually found the love of her life.

GREY

Grey trained to dance so she could express her fears, things that she can't tell her parents or friends. But she went through some tough times but she rolled with the punches and make do with the cards she was dealt with. She conquered everything even though she's scare out of her wits and came out of the other end (practically) unscathed.

DAWSON

Ohhh... Dawson! He went after what he wanted (as he explained -- he always get what he wants) and thankfully what he wanted also wants him.

If you want a story that deals with real, unadulterated emotions of being left lone then finding that someone who makes you feel -- just feel something. Then you should read this!

Would you recommend this book? Yes!

Barely Surviving

FOUR STARS

Received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Awesome, awesome prologue! I loved it! It was gripping and it makes you want to read faster know more yet you also want to read slower to savor it.

However, I cant believe it's a cliff hanger! I was kinda dreading the end because I can feel that I have to wait to know what happens next to Ava and Jonah.

AVA

Ava had it tough, she grew up without a father and with a distant, uncaring mother but with everything that happened to her, I liked that she found her family in London. She just need to get a grip and learn to share her feelings so it wont eat her up. She's sassy where it counts!

JONAH

Jonah was hawt! As in panty-dripping, alpha male hot, take control man! And he's Irish, I love Irish men! Some things are left unsaid when it comes to his intentions and motives, that's what I wanted to know and I hope the second book would shed some light to this.

There are, however, some things that I did not like about this book.

1. Too much use of deep blues to emerald greens. It's just annoying for me. I mean, yes i get the color of their eyes, can we move on please.

2. The pacing from strangers to their i-cant-live-and-breathe-without-you is so fast, I feel like there should've been more, like something monumental (aside from the obvious sexual attraction) that made them so attracted and attached to each other.

3. There are grammatical flaws and some typos but it's nothing I cant move on and deal with. I know this is an ARC so I think there's still time to polish it.

Overall I liked this book, Their story is something that I would look forward to read, hopefully the second book would come out soon!

Great book, Courtney! Again, thank you for letting me read and review it. Good luck!

Would I recommend it? Oh yeah!

His Wicked Games (His Wicked Games #1)

4 SOLID STARS

Got an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Okay... I did not expect that but boy was that a good read!

It's a magical twist of reality and being trapped in an erotic fairy tale, one would hope she never gets out of. The "games" were a sure way to make you want to raise your hand and volunteer (if Calder's taking new participants). I liked that the story didn't seem forced and it progressed naturally.

LILY

She's the epitome of determination in every sense of the word, even enduring the games of Calder. She is passionate about her work and has given everything she has to make it. The Frazer Center for the Arts would surely rise from it's situation.

CALDER

Ooooh wow! He' arrogant, into himself, over confident jerk you cant help but love! I loved his overbearing character and that he is intense in his own sexy way. I want me some Calder!!!

Cant wait for the next installment!

Would I recommend this book? Yes!

Beneath the Fire (Guardians #1.5)

5 fan-frickin'-tastic stars!

*Got an advance copy from the author for an honest review.*

"You have to choose what you could live with and what you couldn't live without."

This books is a refreshing change from all the sappy, don't-know-my-feelings, holding-grudges-couple that I've read. Lucy and Nathan know what they want and they go and get it. They're both strong willed and cannot be more perfect for each other.

I enjoyed reading this book. It's a page turner!

Nathan is hawt! Uber alpha male!

"...she damned well better have this ring on her finger before she left this bed or she would find herself chained to it."

Lucy is smart and a well put together girl. She is not scare to butt heads with Nathan or her brother.

"...it's a reminder of how far we have come."

I would highly recommend this book to those who wants a quick read with substance and is not iffy with possessive, hot, alpha and a hot, go-getter heroine.
